API versions
Versions are path-based: your integration targets one in the URL (https://apiv2.shiprocket.in/v1/external/...). A new major is cut only for breaking changes; anything additive ships into the version you already use. v1 is the default for every existing integration and has no sunset date.
We never retire a version on a schedule. The only circumstance under which a version would ever be sunset is a critical requirement (a security or legal issue we cannot fix any other way) — and even then we give at least 12 months' notice from the day it is marked deprecated, announced in the changelog, by email, and as Deprecation/Sunset response headers. A preview version is not linked from the reference until it is ready. /api/latest always resolves to the default version. Full policy: Versioning.
